No April Showers, Just May Flowers

BY Anum Bashir

Hello my loves! Doing a quick Friday post to share with you all that I've been wearing lately - from marigold pleated tops by Tibi to raffia sandals, to discovering some vintage Marni nestled in the back of my closet. Dubai's summer has kicked into full-swing, so the layers of clothing are likely to diminish rapidly going forward. I'm so excited about Ramadan being next week though. Things tend to slow down just a tad, and I'm curious to see how I'm going to dress, because at this very moment...I'm not sure how that'll be. Have a great weekend.

This marigold hued Tibi top is just so Spring/ Summer appropriate. The incredibly saturated color and pleated fabric makes it such a fun piece to style in a variety of ways. I paired mine with an Acne Studios denim jacket because we're headed to the movies, and it's always freezing there. For accessories, I chose Saf Safu's Eden Love earrings which are currently in frequent rotation, and my Alessandra Rich sunglasses, with sheer lenses, to add a retro touch.

Here's the vintage Marni blazer I found snoozing in the back of my closet. Admittedly it's too warm now for blazers, but I still tend to wear one to work only because air conditioning in this part of the world can be brutal i.e. it's still like 55 degrees indoors.

To make the look more "Summer", I paired it with raffia sandals by Zyne, and a raffia tote by Seour Paris. Saf Safu earrings still nestled on the lobes, and these Thierry Lasry sunglasses I scored on Moda Operandi also have sheer lenses which I'm quite into lately.

I'm also giving yellow pants a try because sartorial experimentation is never a bad thing, and one shouldn't go through life wondering, "What if?"

Tibi sent me a great pair that are incredibly high-waisted, but also flared. What do you think? Can I pull off brightly color bottom covers?

Because my obsession with footwear will likely last for the foreseeable future, and because Maryam Nassir Zadeh doesn't seem to help the situation, I'm likely to be spending several weeks in these babies. They're so comfortable, and the bright orange colored gladiator heels will insist on making quite the statement - even with the most normcore of outfits.

Lastly, bedtime stories with Sophie Calle and Rachel Comey. I got this silk robe off of Shopbop and it's a piece I can wear around the house, while working from home, or take out... even to dinner too.
