It all started when I was having coffee with a girlfriend of mine about six weeks ago – just as the summer humidity and dust was settling into Dubai for the year. We were discussing skincare saving graces to help keep our visages from looking tired and dehydrated in the summer, and I was mentioning various facials worth trying.
My friend suggested I invest in a few skincare products instead of going for a single facial that would cost as much. “If you’re going to spend $400 on your skin, buy some products that you can use everyday, rather than blowing it all on a treatment,” she suggested. “And in my opinion, products last longer, and you’ll generally see better results over time.” Her advice seemed sound, and I decided to give certain products a try.
Soon after our date, I headed to my go-to beauty app, Ounass, and browsed a few brands whilst simultaneously checking Beautypedia for reviews. That’s when I came across my new favorite product – the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum.
The name rung a bell; I remember hearing Kim Kardashian rave about the By Terry Cellularose range in an interview a while back, and being a sucker for anything rose, I immediately hit “Add To Cart”.
The By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serumwas developed for those who need a little radiance boost. With light-reflective pearl pigments, the serum blurs imperfections to create a more even tone across the face. Once I applied it to my freshly scrubbed and toned skin, I noticed an immediate neutralization of redness, as well as a lightening of my dark spots. My face was looking good!
The formula offers a high concentration of Vitamin E, and fills in fine lines and pores, and with the incredible rose native stem cells that provide a superficially light micro-exfoliating agent, the serum gradually works to brighten pigmentation across the skin (making it more skincare, rather than makeup in my opinion).
The product can be mixed into your go-to foundation to provide a stunning glowy undertone, though I’ve been using it alone without the aid of makeup, and it works equally well too. It’s been offering immediately healthy looking skin, and a light subtle glow that works for the unforgiving Dubai summer climate. After just a couple of days I was receiving compliments on my fresh-faced glowing complexion – the ultimate seal of approval for any product.
By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum comes in four shades:
- Immaculate Light – developed to lift light complexions by eliminating blotchiness
- Rose Elixir – neutralizing washed-out and tired tones with pink-tones particles
- Apricot Glow – made to suit warm and medium tones with a little more of a golden hint (perfect for summer)
- Sunny Flash – bronze-toned for darker skin tones to give a little bit of a sun kissed glow
Many reviews online encourage mixing the various shades, but I’ve been using Rose Elixir and Apricot Glow, both individually and together, with stunning results.
The serum doesn’t come cheap priced at around $80 for the 30ml bottle. You should only need 2-3 pumps for a full skin lift – applying to the contour and cheeks before blending in a circular motion. I’m about 6 weeks into both my bottles with about half a bottle left – lasting far longer than a standard facial’s result, so I’m certainly not complaining.
By Terry is cruelty-free and does not test on animals when it comes to finished products or ingredients, nor do their suppliers test on animals on their behalf. By Terry is sold only in Hong Kong and not in Mainland China as the brand opposes animal testing in its entirety.
You can purchase By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum on Ounass and Net-A-Porter, as well as at Selfridges, Barneys, Saks, Nordstrom, and Harrods.
